The Power of Thinking Small
Life is abundant in examples of how "thinking small" can provide significant payoffs. In the Biblical context, the fact that David was significantly smaller than Goliath was not as astounding as the fact that David defeated this gargantuan foe by using a very small, and seemingly innocuous, weapon: a small stone and sling.
Whether it is in the heat of athletic competition, or, something as casual as eating at your favorite restaurant, the things that separate the winners from the rest of the pact are usually small differences. In Olympic sprints, the victor can win by a fraction of a second. But, what may have attributed to the win is a minute difference in how a sprinter leans into the tape. With a favorite dining spot it may come down to tiny nuances in the spices they use, or, a simple "Thank you for dining with us," at the end of a meal. In life the small things are the big things.
Our Management, Sales and Training Consulting Philosophy and Practice - "Think Small"
By doing small things in strategic and critical areas you, or your company, can experience exceptional results. It is essentially no different from the example that is depicted to the left. One stone counterbalances six stones whose combined weight is many times that of the one stone. What becomes ostensibly apparent, and crucial, is the placement of the fulcrum to provide the mechanical advantage to lift the collection of stones.
This is essentially how we approach every project and every need. We look to those small changes that can be performance and outcomes multipliers.
"Think Small" was the most recognized, impactful and awarded advertising campaign of the prolific art director and advertising pioneer, Helmut Krone.
"Think Small - Expect Big"
Think Small - The Beginning
His seminal work was monumental in terms of the simplicity of design and its minimalist approach. But more importantly, it marked a transformational change in terms of how things were communicated, perceived, valued and got done.
We, at Think Small Consulting, believe that by "thinking small" you will be able to better integrate change and new behaviors into your repertoire of success. And, more importantly, sustain your new skills as part of the way you interact with your business, and personal, environment.
